A renowned Indian writer and columnist, Khushwant Singh was the founder-editor of Yojanaand and edited several publications including the Illustrated Weekly of India, the National Herald, and Hindustan Times. He is known for his iconic works such as Train to Pakistan, I Shall Not Hear the Nightingale (later retitled as The Lost Victory), and Delhi. In addition, he has written an acclaimed two-volume A History of the Sikhs, numerous translations, and other works on Sikh religion and culture, Delhi, nature, current affairs, and Urdu poetry. In recognition of his contributions, he was granted the Padma Vibhushan award in 2007.
