Dr. Bilal Abdul-Alim is currently working as a consultant for external charity projects in Africa and the Indian sub-continent for His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah,United Arab Emirates. He has been in this role since February, 1998, based at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, and has traveled to over 20 countries in Africa and the India sub-continent to establish various projects, including hospitals, clinics, schools, low-cost housing, orphanages, universities, water wells, and masjids. Prior to his current post, Dr. Abdul-Alim served as Medical Consultant and Chairman of the Africa Committee for Sharjah Charity International from 1992-1997, and led the first team from the Middle East on the ground during the wars in Somalia and Rwanda/Zaire.
